The Journal of the Association for Information Systems (JAIS) has accepted the paper “Designing Conversational Dashboards for Effective Use in Crisis Response” co-authored by Marcel Ruoff, Ulrich Gnewuch, Alexander Maedche, and Benjamin Scheibehenne for publication. In this study, we draw on the theory of effective use to propose a theory-driven design for conversational dashboards in crisis response in the specific context of the COVID-19 pandemic. Our experimental evaluation shows that natural language improves users’ interaction with the dashboard and ultimately increases their efficiency and effectiveness in finding information
